Free Sales Page Template: Copy, Fill, Ship
A blank page is the slowest part of any sales page. This free sales page template removes it. Copy the text below, fill each bracket with your own facts, and you will have a complete first draft. Beside it is a filled example, so you can see what a finished version looks like.
Lesson 4.2 shows how to have AI fill and polish each part for you: A page that sells while you sleep.
Copy the template, replace every bracket with a real fact, delete any line you cannot back up, and publish a plain page with one button.
Before you fill it in
Have four things in front of you: one sentence about your buyer, three phrases real customers use, the exact contents of your offer, and your price and terms. If you do not have these, the template will give you tidy sentences with nothing inside them.
Never fill a bracket with something invented. If you do not yet have a testimonial, leave the proof section as a plain description of how you work.
The sales page template
Copy everything between the lines below.
[Page title: what it is and who it is for, in under 60 characters] Headline: [What the buyer gets] for [who it is for]. Sub line: [One sentence on how it works or how long it takes.] The problem [Describe the situation in the buyer's own words. Two or three short paragraphs. Start with what they are trying to do, then what gets in the way.] What you get - [Item one, with format] - [Item two, with format] - [Item three, with format] - [How and when it is delivered] Why trust this [A real quote with the person's permission, or a plain description of who you are and how you work. Only true statements.] Price and terms [Price.] [What it covers.] [Refund, return or support terms, if any.] [How to get help.] Button: [Verb plus the thing: "Book the session", "Buy the guide"]
What each part is for
- Page titleGoogle's documentation asks for descriptive, concise titles, unique to each page, and says to avoid vague ones like "Home". Write one that states the offer.
- Headline and sub lineThe headline names the result and the person. The sub line adds how it works. Together they tell a scanner whether to stay.
- The problemShow you understand their situation. Use their words, not yours.
- What you getA concrete list. A buyer should be able to write down what will arrive.
- Why trust thisReal proof or an honest description. Nothing invented.
- Price and termsPut the price and what happens next in one place, so no one has to ask.
A filled example, clearly invented
Here is the template filled for a made up service: a maths tutor who sells a four session exam revision pack for teenagers. The tutor, the numbers and the details are invented to show the format.
Page title: Maths Exam Revision Pack for Teenagers Headline: Four live maths revision sessions for teenagers who freeze at exam questions. Sub line: Small online sessions, one topic each, with a worksheet to keep. The problem You know the maths from lessons, but exam questions look different and the clock makes it worse. Revision turns into rereading notes, which feels busy and fixes nothing. What you get - Four live sessions online, one topic per session - A worksheet after each session, as a PDF - A short checklist for exam day - Email support between sessions Why trust this [Replace with a real parent or student quote, with permission. If none yet: a plain note on the tutor's teaching background and how a session runs.] Price and terms [Price.] Sessions are booked after payment. [Refund policy.] Questions go to the email address on your receipt. Button: Book the revision pack
Notice the proof section is still in brackets. That is deliberate. A made up quote would be worse than none.
Fill it with AI, safely
Paste the template and your facts into an AI chat tool and ask it to ask you questions first. Then say: "Fill each part using only the facts I gave you. If something is missing, write [MISSING] instead of guessing." That last instruction prevents invented details. When you get the draft back, search it for anything you did not supply.
If you are not sure how to write the brief, How to Brief AI Like a Senior Hire gives a five part version.
Check before you ship
- Is every bracket gone?
- Is every claim true and backed by something you can point to?
- Can a stranger say who the page is for in five seconds?
- Is there one button, and does it work?
- Is the page title descriptive and different from your other pages?
- Do you have a short, unique description? Google recommends writing a unique description per page that accurately summarises it.
- Did you read it on a phone?
Nielsen Norman Group's 1997 research found that most of its test users scanned new pages instead of reading word by word. It is old, so treat it as a hint, but it supports short paragraphs and clear labels.
Reuse it
Save your filled version as your own master. The next offer only needs new brackets filled. If you want a process around it, A framework for a sales page template turns this into a weekly routine.
Common ways the template gets misused
Three habits spoil a good template. The first is leaving brackets in the live page: search for the square bracket character before you publish. The second is stretching every section to look thorough. A short, clear problem section beats a long, wandering one. The third is copying someone else's wording. Your buyer uses their own words, and your page should too.
If you sell more than one thing, make a separate copy of the template for each offer. Do not squeeze two offers into one set of brackets, because the headline and button can only point one way.
Questions people ask
Can I use this template for a service and a product?
Yes. Change the "What you get" list to match: sessions and deliverables for a service, items and delivery for a product.
How long should each section be?
Short. The problem can be two or three paragraphs; the others a few lines.
What if I have no proof yet?
Describe how you work and who you are. Add real quotes when you earn them.
Do I need all six parts?
For a first page, yes. You can trim later once you see what people ask.
